So I am 5 weeks into my post secondary education. Here’s what I have learned so far (in no specific order):
- I know absolutely nothing about classic German playwrights and plays... yet.
- The Seiffer Simpson Scale is very useful this time of year. It is the scale they use to measure the strength of Hurricanes. It’s like the Richter Scale for earthquakes, only for hurricanes. ( I learned that in my Natural Disasters class. Woohoo!)
- Residence toilets are the most frightening things on the planet.
- You can only play Whiz-Bang-Whoosh-Kerplop for so long before wanting to poke your eyes out.
- $20 in university student currency is equal to $100 high school student currency.
- Hamlet is the same as reading Dr. Seuss books compared to the Witch of Edmonton. (Here's the crib notes on wikipedia).
- Homework is a way of life.
- It’s fun to make new friends but nothing compares to my friends at home.
- InterAction has over qualified me for my acting class*
- There’s no place like home
*Note: Kate taught Acting at Dalhousie for 2 years.
I’m finally starting to feel comfortable here. It has taken awhile to adjust but I’m all good now. I’ve met some really awesome people who are very talented actors and dancers. I’ve told them all about my acting friends at home! I’ve also shown them pictures from shows we have done in the past and they were really impressed!
It was so nice to see some of you a few weeks ago when I came home for those few days. The Snow Queen is already looking really cool!
I just found out today that I got a part in a mask show that the Dalhousie Stage Society is putting on. We will be using masks like we used the time Jim Dalling came down and taught those workshops, with the really big features.
I hope everyone is having fun at school and I hope classes and rehearsals are awesome!
Stay Safe,
-Robbie Hebb

Classic German Playwrights? Like Bertolt Brecht? Will Sinclair taught us all about Brecht a few weeks ago in Snow Queen rehearsals, and he's 11!
I pride myself in teaching y'all more about theatre than most kids know.
Have fun. Tell Jure a knock-knock joke for me;)
The Witch of Edmonton is a piece of cake. You shoudl be glad you don't have to read The Witch of Calgary...now that's a challenge. I don't even want to get into The Witch of Lethbridge.
haha nice blog Robin i will be checking it daily for updates!
hope to c u soon!

Hey Girl, I bet your legs can move faster and kicked higher than any dancers there. We can't wait for you to come home!
I still say you skip out on the whole uni experience and come home. though i do think that is my withdrawal talking..
